4 festivals you can celebrate this August!

With August bringing us the last 20 days of summer, let us waste no time and start packing. Bring out the best in your wanderlust! Being a perfect country for road trips, make sure you don’t get lost in here and always keep a map handy. If you’re in mood for some good hike up the stunning landscapes during evening time, the best place for you to visit is Mount Lemmon. If you want a low-key trip, this dreamy town of Wellfleet has more than you can imagine. You can also try out Northern Vermont which offers a perfect combo of happening and woodsy vibes. My personal favorite place to visit during summer is Sanibel and Captiva islands in Florida. It is a popular destination for tourists who want to enjoy activities like fishing, boating and shelling. Last year I went there with my family and had the most amazing time. Another thing about it is that is it is very kid-friendly. Mandy found her perfect seashell in this natural treasure hunt. We went dolphin shopping, visited a lighthouse and witnessed the most spectacular sunsets.

Like every other month, let’s talk about the different festivals you and your family can celebrate!

1. Let’s start with the very popular International Friendship Day on 4th. Who doesn’t remember buying friendship bracelets in a bulk for the friends you had at middle and elementary school? Well, good news for us friendship bracelets are back in style for adults too! You can give your friend a high-end bracelet or create a fun one from scratch. They are a thoughtful way of letting your pal know that you care!

2. Left hander’s day is an unofficial holiday celebrated every year on 13th It is used to celebrate left-handed people. It’s the perfect day to celebrate if you happen to be left-handed or you know someone who is!

3. August also celebrates Raksha Bandhan or “Rakhi” among Hindus. It focuses on the love and duty between brothers and sisters. There’s a full-fledged ceremony on the day in presence of all the members of the family. To learn more, click here

4. We also have Eid al-Adha which is celebrated among Muslims. It is an Islamic festival commemorating the sacrifice made by Prophet Ibrahim.
